This week's time trial at Glencaple is also the first ever DG League event! This is a counting event for our DCC club confined handicap leagues. The only practical difference for DCC riders is the £3 cost and the welcome presence of other riders from across Dumfries & Galloway. Let's have a good strong turnout to welcome new competitors and to represent DCC!
The first in the series of six DG League time trials takes place on Wednesday (26th April) with the first rider off at 7.01pm. Sign on is at the quayside car park Glencaple from 6pm. Please park with care and consideration for local residents.
Please sign on no later than 6.45pm. The cost is £3 per rider. Please bring the exact amount as change may not be available. As previously stated, membership of a CTT affiliated club is required.
The rules for the series are detailed in the first post on the dedicated Facebook event page. In short, riders will be allocated to one of three leagues according to their times. Points will then be allocated to reward performance within each league.
The Glencaple 10 course starts (and finishes) near the foot of Kennel Hill so allow time to get there in time for your start. The turn is at Brownhall Primary School. Riders should take extra care when travelling through the village of Glencaple. See you there! :-)

DG League 1
The first ever DG League event took place this evening. The aim of the series is to increase participation in time trialling in the area and to give riders the chance to meet with and compete against each other. 31 riders from 5 different clubs started this evening so we're off to a great start in meeting those goals.
Fantastic to see so many riders turn out and so many brilliant performances. On top of all that, we saw an awesome new course record set by Castle Douglas rider Gavin Shirley of Dooley's RT!
Huge thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting this new venture. Particular thanks to Fiona Ure for timekeeping, and to John Graham, Alan Hewitt and Helen Acklam for their excellent assistance.
The next event in the DG League is the Glencaple 25 on Wednesday 10th May. Allocation of leagues and points will be published soon.

CTT 'Come and Try It' TT Tonight's time trial was brilliant. It was amazing to welcome so many riders taking on their first TT. We hope you all enjoyed the experience! Hopefully we can encourage and support you to come back and do it again soon. You can find details of all our events for 2017 on our website. Thanks to Fiona Ure and Stephen Spellacy for their help this evening. Thanks also for the help and support of the experienced DCC time-trialling addicts who turned out, too! The focus tonight definitely wasn't on times or who was fastest. However... here are the times! The course was 6.6 miles long. 37 riders competed and there were loads of huge efforts, brilliant performances, raw talent and happy smiling faces at the finish! :-D (* Denotes rider aged 12 to 14) 👍👍 R Colbeck 16.36 C McCann 17.40 Thomas Fell* 19.33 Will Voce 18.55 Craig Kirkpatrick 17.03 Graeme Hogg 17.47 Rebecca* & Charlene Saunderson 21.40 Niall Anderson 21.07 Cole Nicholson* 20.33 Millie Voce* 23.58 Robert Duncan 18.36 Poppy Voce* 25.52 Emily Hunter* 19.22 Emma McRobert 22.40 Alan Laurie 16.45 Graham Black 20.51 Richard Procter 22.09 Jaime Nicholson 19.04 James Miodonski 20.41 Graeme Cross 19.02 Gary Black 21.00 Andrew Parker 15.51 Tony Graham 22.15 Rachel Cameron 22.08 Stuart Garner 17.28 Stuart Andrews 19.53 Cameron Black 19.13 Alex Ure 17.51 Craig Gibson 17.32 Lee Saunderson 18.39 David Jordan 17.22 Garry Collins 17.48 Brian Morrell 17.12 Paula Ward 23.51 Mark Hyslop 17.49 Graeme Ward 20.27 dumfriescc.btck.co.uk/RaceTT

DG League 2
There's no such thing as a bad time to do a time trial but this evening was a lovely evening for a time trial. Light winds from the south west were close to ideal for the course and it was a good bit warmer than at the first DG League event back in April. A '25' is a true test and the Glencaple course has a little bit of everything to provide an excellent challenge. Once again, it was great to see the event supported by so many local riders and helpers. This was a real team effort by all involved to give the riders a safe and well-supported experience.
Sincere thanks to Brian Morrell, Fiona Ure, Gill McNeil, Stephen Martin and Kev Jamieson for giving up their time to help this evening, and to Stuart Garner and Cameron Black for their efforts in taking photographs and offering support out on the course. Photos to follow.
Some superb performances throughout the field of 26 riders, with PBs aplenty. The top 3 from the last round was replicated with the classy and full-of-potential Lewis Martin (CRT) gapping Stephen Spellacy of DCC (riding a storming PB) to claim 3rd place. Chris Stewart (Dooley's RT) overcame a late equipment hitch to comfortably get under the hour and take second spot on the night. Yet another awesome display of power and pacing from Gavin Shirley (Dooley's RT) saw him clear in 1st place in a time of 57.32, which we believe is another course record for this in-form rider.
League points will be posted soon. Here are the times:
Emma Westmancott (DCC) 80.51 Donald McCalley (DCC) 70.47 Gary Black (DCC) 75.19 Colin Little (DCC) 68.27 David Kikpatrick (DCC) 78.21 Craig Gibson (DCC) 69.10 Alex Ure (DCC) 71.23 Sandy Laurie (DCC) 70.38 David Jordan (DCC) 65.41 Garry Collins (DCC) 67.32 Glenn Marland (DCC) 67.50 Brian Young (DCC) 66.53 Craig Kirkpatrick (DCC) 67.32 Andrew Parker (DCC) 61.07 Esther Hamill (DCC) 72.43 Colin McCann (DCC) 67.11 Stewart McGregor (FF) 61.52 Gordon McNeil (DCC) 63.57 Stephen Spellacy (DCC) 60.52 Jamie Little (CRT) 65.18 Neil Pearson (DCC) 63.06 Lewis Martin (CRT) 59.47 (3rd) Cameron Scade (DCC) DNF Richard Colbeck (DCC) 65.22 Chris Stewart (DRT) 59.19 (2nd) Gavin Shirley (DRT) 57.32 - Course Record.
