6 April
Please note that this Wednesday's event starts earlier than usual at 18.30. It's the 'new' Collin course on the B724 from Racks to Comlongon Castle gates and back. Please exercise particular caution at the turn. Parking is at Racks road - please park with consideration for residents. The current course record for this course, which was modified in 2015, is 23.37, set by Gordon McNeil in June last year.
Thanks to the Officials for this event who are A Ure, G Collins and D McCalley.

Seven riders opened the 2016 season on a chilly and blustery (but mercifully dry) evening. The expected tough cross headwind on the home leg had the riders puzzling over how best to pace their efforts. Two debutants to DCC time trials, William Brown and David Sloan, took to the start line and set promising times that they'll aim to beat next time out. Next Wednesday's event is a 10 on the new Glencaple course. Hope to see you there!
Points towards handicap leagues will be posted in due course. This evening's times are: W Brown 30.52 B Morrell 26.24 (3rd) C Little 27.39 C McCann 26.25 D Jordan 27.10 D Sloan 26.12 (2nd) C Scade 23.32 (1st)

Tomorrow evening sees the second 10 mile time trial of the season take place on the new Glencaple 10 course. This course runs through the village of Glencaple where, of course, riders will need to be particularly alert to pedestrians and parked vehicles. The turn is at the roundabout at Brownhall Primary.
We'll be meeting at the car park at the quayside in Glencaple in good time for a 7pm start, allowing time to get to the start line from the village. The start/finish is near the road up to the kennels.
Hopefully we'll see a good turnout for this great new course. Please remember you need to be a current member of the club to participate. Any questions about how to get involved - please just ask.

Twelve eager riders met at Glencaple this evening for the inaugural Glencaple 10 on the sun-kissed banks of the Nith. Conditions were cold but dry, with a light North Easterly wind to help the riders home. The cold conditions and grippy road surface made things difficult for the riders but already some close rivalries are brewing for the season ahead. Thanks to A Taylor and S McGivern for helping me with the marshaling and timekeeping tonight. Points will be published on a monthly basis. This evening's times are as follows:
G Shedden 32.02 Gill McNeil 28.40 A Ure 28.11 K Johnston 29.27 S Spellacy 28.26 C Little 27.27 G Collins 27.01 (3rd) B Young 27.07 C McCann 27.09 S Garner 26.45 (2nd) D McCalley 28.37 G McNeil 25.36 (1st)

Tomorrow evening (7pm start) is the first in this season's 18-25 series, on the formidable Park Farm course which runs through Beeswing and New Abbey. With a couple of big climbs and some fast descending, this is a course that perhaps particularly suits those riding road bikes: you don't need a full-on pointy-swooshy TT bike to do any of these events!
Conditions look like being ideal tomorrow evening so come along and test yourself. It really is a super course.
Please remember you need to be a current 1st claim member of the club to participate. Any questions about how to get involved - please just ask.
Also looking for info on the course record for the Park Farm circuit - in a TT. Anyone know?
