Run to the hills!
We're taking a break from running TTs for the next three Wednesday evenings. One of several reasons for this is to allow our members to participate in activities that are a bit different and to cater to those for whom time-trialling does not appeal. Alex Ure has come up with the following plan:
• 3 Wednesday nights in July: 5th, 12th, 19th. • Meet QoS Car Park 6:15 is for 6:30 start • Set off in groups – similar to Monday nights – with the group in front given a reasonable time gap (agree gap times on the night depending on who turns up). • Help your group get to the top of the hill first. Or if you feel strong enough form a break away. Stage 1 (0 miles to 4.56 miles) Lochfield Road - Terregles Street - Victoria Avenue - Dalbeattie Road - Head up hill through the long wood - Finish second layby Regroup #1 Stage 2 (4.56 miles to 16.63 miles) Head to Dalbeattie - Left onto the B793 to Caulkerbush - Follow road to left to Kirkbean - Head up hill to Drumstinchall Farm - Finish opposite farm road Regroup #2 Stage 3 (16.63 to 30.84 miles) Left onto main road at Caulkerbush - Head up Whinnyhill - Finish small layby Regroup #3 Stage 4 (30.84 to 34.8 miles) Feel free to sprint to be first at the 30s - Finish at the 30 at Dumfries **NOTE: The regrouping is important to give riders a chance to move up or down a group.**
