Dumfries & Galloway Time Trial League
Time trials are a great introduction to racing for novices, provide a focus and target for individual improvement and are a useful training event for club riders in all disciplines.
In 2017 an inter-club series will take place to help encourage participation in the sport. These will be run on courses based around Glencaple.
The events will be run under Cycling Time Trials rules and regulations. Entry will be £3, with £2 of that being the CTT levy.
All competitors must fill in a sign on sheet prior to taking part.
Minimum age is 12 years old and young riders will be required to complete a parental consent form before taking part.
Riders are advised to carry a flashing red rear light on their bicycle and will be expected to wear a helmet.
Sign on will close at 6:40pm at the latest and the first rider will be off at 7:01pm.
Event results, league standings and race reports will be published through a public Facebook group and in the local press.

DG League: Midweek Time Trial Series Rules
1. Open to all riders who are a member of a CTT affiliated club.
2. The time trial series will be run as a league system. There will be 3 leagues (A – C) with riders allocated to a particular league based on their quickest time.
3. The allocation of riders to each league will be based on their time in their first 10 mile event of the current series on the following basis:
a. League A: under 25 minutes 30 seconds (tbc)
b. League B: 25 min 31 secs to 28 minutes 59 seconds (tbc)
c. League C: Over 29 minutes (tbc)
4. Points will be awarded for each rider within a league based on the position they finished within their league at each event.
5. Allocation of points shall be on a sliding scale from 20 down to 1 for 1st place to 20th place respectively.
6. The series depends on rider volunteers helping with timekeeping, marshalling and putting the course signs out. Volunteer points and a multiplier will be awarded to riders who help out on the following basis:
o Riders will receive their average points for the series for each occasion they volunteer. These will count towards their maximum number of scoring events.
o On the first occasion of volunteering, a rider will have a
multiplier of 1.05 applied to their running total i.e. series total = running total x 1.05
o If required, on the second and subsequent occasion of volunteering, the multiplier for the series total will be increased to 1.1
• Only a rider’s 5 best scoring events will count towards the overall series, with the rider who accumulates the most points in each league winning their respective league. There will also be an award for overall series winner on the same basis.
