Managed to get round in 4:16:28 which is my best so far.
From swearing she would never do it again after I dragged her round to the edge of exhaustion two years ago Kath ended up taking a friends number who was ill and did a best for her of 4:42:38 all on her own. looks like my domestique days are numbered :)
Overall a great days cycling, huge buzz being on the closed roads with so many other bikes so you never really get dropped, just slide back from one pack to another (or jump forward if your feeling frisky). I had one spell down the side of Loch Rannoch in a pack of around 200 - bit scary but so fast, easy and fun you just switch your brain off and enjoy the ride.
If you've not tried this event, or one of the other big closed road sportives I recommend you give it a go at least once. We'll be back again next year and perhaps there will be a bigger DCC contingent....

Many thanks to those who have offered to help, but having discussed it with those out this morning and reflecting on how hectic my life is over the next few weeks; Icnnot organise this properly so I have decided to cancel it as an official race.
However, since it's on the Wednesday programme, plan B is to have a club road race training session over the same route ( in 2 stages). We have a plan in mind that will give everyone an opportunity to ride in a fast group for most of the time and experience something of what a race might be like. Everyone is encouraged to come and join in. Being simply a club training night, ther will obviously be no entry fee, nor TLI membership required.
