 TLI Race Route 23rd May
« Thread Started on Apr 30, 2012, 9:14pm »

We are organising a TLI road race on Wednesday the 23rd May. The route will be Cargenbridge - Beeswing - Aucheninnnes - Caulkerbush - New Abbey - Dumfries. This is about 34 miles, see below for a MapMyRide link.

I am planning to ride this route on Wednesday morning (2nd May) at a fairly relaxed pace so that I can complete the risk assessment. I will leave Halfords car park at 0930 - please feel free to come along and join me.

Is this a club event like the time trials or an open event like the Moniaive Wild Hills?

Are we going to 'try' the route tomorrow night? Training ride round the 34 odd miles?

TLI Race Update 23rd May

There will be traffic lights in operation on the A711 tonight just after Kirkgunzeon about seven miles into the race. As a result, we are planning to start the race at the soonest safe point after these lights. At worst, this will be on the B793

Any updates on this situation will be communicated at sign on.

Really enjoyed it Andrew, thank you very much for the efforts of you and your team. Especially with the traffic lights issue thrown at you late on.

Ta.

I am looking to put together a brief race report for the paper but don't have a full enough of a picture of what happened in the race to do this justice. As a result, can anyone that has a race story and a spare minute send it through to me in the next day. My e-mail address is on the contact page of the DCC site.

Anyone have any photos? If so I can ask the paper to name the taker.

Check out the change of marshal midway through!

Thanks to Steve McGivern for standing up a ladder at the finish line to record this video.
